Mr Ayliffe has had a distinguished career ever since he studied both medicine and dentistry at the University of London. Following a broad surgical training, Peter specialised in Oral and Maxillo-Facial surgery (including being awarded a fellowship in Plastic Surgery). {{ label }}
Peter distinguished himself, by winning all the prizes available to a trainee in his speciality including the international research prize and he has since been regarded internationally as leading surgeon in his field. He has lectured and taught extensively both in the UK and abroad, as well as being published extensively in the international literature.
Peter’s long career in the NHS involved inter alia, working at University College Hospital as a consultant Maxillo-Facial surgeon and being appointed consultant Maxillo-Facial surgeon, at the world-famous Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, as well as being appointed Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Child Health at the University of London.
Peter’s energies are now focused on his work at King Edward VII’s Hospital where his private practice funds the medical charity work in the developing world that Peter is so passionate about and has been doing for over thirty years.
Peter is expert in all aspects of Oral and Maxillo-Facial surgery and retains a particular interest in temporomandibular joint problems and reconstruction of the jaws and face.
He and his team look forward to continuing to welcome and take care of, patients of all ages from the UK and overseas.
