Mr Maan Kasmiya is a highly experienced consultant ophthalmologist based privately in London with over 20 years of experience. His areas of expertise include cataract surgery, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, laser surgery, diabetic eye disease and medical retina. {{ label }}
After completing his ophthalmology training in the UK, Mr Kasmiya became a substantive consultant at King’s College Hospital taking the lead for the Diabetic Screening Programme (DESP) at Bromley and the south London area; a programme in partnership with Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals. In addition, Mr Kasmiya is proactively involved in medical and clinical research and is passionate about teaching, having taught both nationally and internationally, related to eye diseases. As a result, he was appointed as an honorary lecturer at the Imperial College London faculty, He is also a speaker at many ophthalmology meetings and is an examiner for the King’s College University hospital.
Since qualifying as a consultant, he has led retinal services in different trusts including Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and involved in anti VEGF injection treatment for Age related macular degeneration, Diabetic retinopathy, Laser treatment and Cataract Surgeries. In total, of more than 21 years of work experience as eye specialist, including more than two years quality fellowships, Mr Kasmiya has consolidated his clinical knowledge following performing thousands of cataracts surgeries and implanting high quality premium lenses including multi-focal, toric and EDof IOL. which were accomplished to the highest standards with very low complication rate and high patients’ satisfaction.
His passion is in helping patients improving their sights and provide Professional and truthful advice alongside the best evidence practice in regards of their eye health.
